As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.

The time grew near for Jesus to be taken up to heaven. So he made up his mind to go to Jerusalem.

When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, when the days were well- nigh come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away.I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.“ For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me.Surely the Lord GOD will help Me; Who is he who will condemn Me? Indeed they will all grow old like a garment; The moth will eat them up.

And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!

Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.

And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.Then Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him,“ Do you know that the Lord will take away your master from over you today?” And he said,“ Yes, I know; keep silent!”

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen,

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said,“ Thus says the Holy Spirit,‘ so shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”Now when we heard these things, both we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go up to Jerusalem.Then Paul answered,“ What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying,“ The will of the Lord be done.”

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.

who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.

Therefore He says:“ When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”( Now this,“ He ascended”— what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

“ But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me,‘ Where are You going?’

What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?
