Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him.

Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he asked,“ Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

The Lord says,“ I look deep down inside human hearts. I see what is in people’s minds. I reward each person in keeping with their conduct. I bless them based on what they have done.”

Nothing God created is hidden from him. His eyes see everything. He will hold us responsible for everything we do.

Now we can see that you know everything. You don’t even need anyone to ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”

You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know what I’m thinking even though you are far away.

Jesus knew what they were thinking. So he said,“ Why do you have evil thoughts in your hearts?

Some people brought little children to Jesus. They wanted him to place his hands on the children and pray for them. But the disciples told them not to do it.Jesus said,“ Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.”Jesus placed his hands on them to bless them. Then he went on from there.

I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I search hearts and minds. I will pay each of you back for what you have done.

Jesus spoke to him a third time. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt bad because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He answered,“ Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep.

Jesus called a little child over to him. He had the child stand among them.Jesus said,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. You need to change and become like little children. If you don’t, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Anyone who takes the humble position of this child is the most important in the kingdom of heaven.

He didn’t need anyone to tell him what people are like. He already knew why people do what they do.

The Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this. He said to himself,“ If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him. He would know what kind of woman she is. She is a sinner!”Jesus answered him,“ Simon, I have something to tell you.”“ Tell me, teacher,” he said.

Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. Be like babies as far as evil is concerned. But be grown up in your thinking.

So get rid of every kind of evil, and stop telling lies. Don’t pretend to be something you are not. Stop wanting what others have, and don’t speak against one another.Like newborn babies, you should long for the pure milk of God’s word. It will help you grow up as believers.

When Jesus saw this, he was angry. He said to his disciples,“ Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. God’s kingdom belongs to people like them.What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who will not receive God’s kingdom like a little child will never enter it.”
