The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies.”But they didn’t know what he meant. Its significance was hidden from them, so they couldn’t understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.

Leaving that region, they traveled through Galilee. Jesus didn’t want anyone to know he was there,for he wanted to spend more time with his disciples and teach them. He said to them,“ The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.”They didn’t understand what he was saying, however, and they were afraid to ask him what he meant.

When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd.“ People of Israel,” he said,“ what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob— the God of all our ancestors— who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate’s decision to release him.

For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him.

For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes

Amazed, the people exclaimed,“ What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, and they flee at his command!”

Then he asked them,“ Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed.“ Who is this man?” they asked each other.“ When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”

Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed,

After they gathered again in Galilee, Jesus told them,“ The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies.

“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: All this may seem impossible to you now, a small remnant of God’s people. But is it impossible for me? says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Everyone was gripped with great wonder and awe, and they praised God, exclaiming,“ We have seen amazing things today!”
