眾人都因上帝的威榮而驚駭。眾人正希奇耶穌所作的一切事，耶穌就對他的門徒說：『人子將要被送交在人手裏：你們要把這些話聽進耳中。』他們不明白這話：這話對於他們是被掩蔽着、以致他們不能審察出來；他們也怕將這話問他。

他們離開那裏，經過了加利利；耶穌不願意人知道；就教訓門徒，對他們說：『人子必被送交在人手裏；他們必殺害他；被殺以後三天，他就要復起。』門徒不明白這話，又怕問他。

他們認得這個人是素常坐在殿的美門口求施捨的，就因他所遇着的事而滿心驚訝駭異。那人正握住彼得約翰的時候、眾民都一齊跑到他們那裏，在那名叫所羅門廊之下，非常驚訝。彼得看見，就應時對人民說：『以色列人哪，你們為甚麼因這事而希奇呢？為甚麼定睛看我們，好像我們憑着自己的能力或敬虔使這個人能走路呢？亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的上帝、我們列祖的上帝、榮耀了他的僕人耶穌；你們卻把他送官，當彼拉多定意要釋放他時，你們竟在彼拉多面前棄絕了他。

因了他們所捕得的這一次打的魚，驚訝便圍困了他、和所有同他在一起的人；

我們從前將我們主耶穌基督的大能力和御臨的事告訴你們，並不是隨從乖巧揑造的荒唐傳說，我們乃是親眼見過他威榮的人。

眾人都驚訝，彼此談論說：『這是甚麼話呀？他用權柄和能力吩咐污靈，污靈竟出來了！』

耶穌對他們說：『你們的信心在哪裏？』他們就起了敬畏和希奇的心，彼此說：『這個人到底是誰？他居然吩咐了風和水，風和水也聽從他！』

就到他們那裏上了船，風就不狂吹了。他們心裏非常驚奇；

他們在加利利聚首的時候，耶穌對他們說：『人子將要被送交在人手裏；

萬軍之永恆主這麼說：當那些日子、這事在這餘剩人民眼中既看為希奇，難道在我眼中也看為希奇？萬軍之永恆主發神諭說。

驚奇抓住了眾人，他們就將榮耀歸與上帝，充滿着敬畏的心、說：『今天我們看見了不可思議的事了。』

我稱謝你，因為你可畏懼而奇妙；你所作的很奇妙。你深深認識我。
