大家都對神的威榮驚嘆不已。正當大家對耶穌所做的一切感到驚奇的時候，耶穌對他的門徒們說：「你們要把這話存在耳中：人子將要被交在人的手中。」可是他們不明白這話，因為這話的意思對他們是隱藏的，使他們不能領悟。他們也不敢問耶穌這話的意思。

他們離開那裡，經過加利利，耶穌不願意讓人知道。那時，他教導自己的門徒們，對他們說：「人子被交在人的手中，他們要殺害他。然後被殺之後，在第三天他要復活。」可是門徒們不明白這話，又不敢問他。

認出他是坐在聖殿的美門口乞討的那個人，就對發生在他身上的事滿心希奇、驚訝。那個人緊拉著彼得和約翰的時候，全體民眾都一起跑向他們，到叫做「所羅門」的柱廊那裡，滿心驚奇。彼得看見，就對民眾說：「各位以色列人哪！你們為什麼對這事感到驚奇？為什麼注視我們，以為我們是憑著自己的能力或虔誠使這個人走路的呢？亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的神，也就是我們祖先的神，已經榮耀了他的僕人耶穌。你們竟然把他交出去，並且在彼拉多判定要釋放他的時候，在彼拉多面前拒絕了他。

那時，他和所有與他一起的人，都對這一網捕到的魚驚訝不已。

要知道，我們從前讓你們明白我們主耶穌基督的大能和他來臨的事，並不是隨從巧言編造的故事，相反，我們是親眼見過他威榮的人。

大家都驚訝不已，彼此談論說：「這是什麼事呢？他帶著權柄和能力命令那些汙靈，它們就出來了！」

耶穌對他們說：「你們的信仰在哪裡？」他們又懼怕，又驚奇，彼此說：「這個人究竟是誰？他竟然命令風和水，連風和水也聽從他！」

接著，耶穌上了船和他們在一起。這時候風就停了。門徒們心裡感到極其驚訝，

他們聚集在加利利的時候，耶穌對門徒們說：「人子將要被交在人的手中。

萬軍之耶和華如此說：『在那些日子，這事在這民的餘剩者眼中看為奇妙，難道在我眼中也看為奇妙嗎？』這是萬軍之耶和華的宣告。

於是大家都驚訝不已，就不住地榮耀神，並且滿懷敬畏之心說：「我們今天看到奇妙的事了！」

我要稱謝你，因為我受造奇妙可畏；你所做的奇妙，我的靈魂深深知道。
