「父啊！我在哪裡，願你賜給我的人也在哪裡，好讓他們看見你賜給我的榮耀，因為在創世以前你已經愛我了。

耶穌回到三個門徒那裡，見他們都睡著了，就對彼得說：「難道你們不能跟我一同警醒一時嗎？你們要警醒禱告，免得陷入誘惑。你們的心靈雖然願意，肉體卻很軟弱。」祂第二次去禱告說：「我父啊！如果我非喝此杯不可，願你的旨意成就。」祂回來時見他們又睡著了，因為他們睏得眼皮發沉。

接著，我聽見他說話的聲音，一聽見他的聲音，我便俯伏在地上昏睡過去。

摩西說：「求你向我彰顯你的榮耀。」耶和華說：「我必叫你看見我一切的美善，我要在你面前宣告我的名——耶和華，我要恩待誰就恩待誰，我要憐憫誰就憐憫誰。但你不能看我的臉，因為凡看見的，都不能存活。你要站在我旁邊的磐石上，我的榮耀經過你面前的時候，我會先把你安置在石縫裡，用我的手遮掩你，直到我從你面前走過。然後我會收回我的手，你就可以看見我的背，但看不到我的臉。」

他們必見上帝的面，上帝的名字必印在他們的額上。再沒有黑夜，也不需要燈光和陽光，因為主上帝必作他們的光。他們要執掌王權直到永永遠遠。

我們從前告訴你們有關主耶穌基督的大能和祂降臨的事，並非根據巧妙虛構的神話，而是我們親眼見過祂的威榮。

起來，發光吧！因為你的光已經來到，耶和華的榮耀已經照在你身上。看啊，黑暗遮蓋大地，幽暗籠罩萬民，但耶和華必照耀你，祂的榮耀必照在你身上。萬國要來就你的光，君王要來就你的曙光。
