Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.“ When you enter a house, first say,‘ Peace to this house.’If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.“ When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you.Heal the sick who are there and tell them,‘ The kingdom of God has come near to you.’But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say,‘ Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. (niv)

“ Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts—no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave.As you enter the home, give it your greeting.If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. (niv)

John answered,“ Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” (niv)

These were his instructions:“ Take nothing for the journey except a staff— no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.Wear sandals but not an extra shirt.Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” (niv)

No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. (niv)

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. (niv)

Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. (niv)

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you— you of little faith! (niv)

Then Jesus said to his disciples:“ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. (niv)
