圣灵启示他，在死前必得见主所应许的基督，

不过，我们看见那位暂时成了比天使卑微（“暂时成了比天使卑微”或译：“比天使稍低微一点”）的耶稣，因为受了死的痛苦，就得了荣耀尊贵作冠冕，好叫他因着神的恩典，为万人尝了死味。

我实实在在告诉你们，人若遵守我的道，必定永远不见死亡。”犹太人对他说：“现在我们知道你的确是鬼附的。亚伯拉罕死了，先知们也死了，你还说‘人若遵守我的道，必定永远不尝死味’，

我告诉你们，从今以后，我决不再喝这葡萄酒，直到神的国来临。”

耶稣又对他们说：“我实在告诉你们，站在这里的，有人在没有尝过死味以前，必定看见神的国带着能力降临。”

但我要把实情告诉你们，我去是对你们有益的。如果我不去，保惠师就不会到你们这里来；我若去了，就会差他到你们这里来。

于是他们拿起石头要打他。耶稣却躲起来，从殿里出去了。

在我父的家里，有许多住的地方；如果没有，我怎么会告诉你们我去是要为你们预备地方呢？（下半节或译：“如果没有，我早就对你们说了，因为我去是为你们预备地方。”）
