圣灵曾启示他：他去世前必能亲眼看见主所立的基督。

只看见耶稣暂时比天使低微一点，好靠着上帝的恩典为全人类亲尝死亡的滋味。祂因为经历死亡的痛苦而得到了尊贵和荣耀作冠冕。

我实实在在地告诉你们，人如果遵行我的道，必永远不死。”那些犹太人说：“现在我们的确知道你是被鬼附身了！亚伯拉罕和众先知都死了，你还说人如果遵行你的道，必永远不死。

我告诉你们，在上帝的国降临之前，我不会再喝这葡萄酒了。”

耶稣继续说：“我实在告诉你们，有些站在这里的人会在有生之年看见上帝的国带着能力降临。”

然而，我把实情告诉你们，我去对你们是有益的，因为如果我不去，护慰者就不会来，我去了就会派祂到你们这里来。

于是，他们就拿起石头要打祂，耶稣却避开他们，离开了圣殿。

我父的家里有许多住处，不然我就不会说去为你们安排地方了。
