蓋欲自保其生者、反將失之、惟為予之故、而舍其生者、克保其生。

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.

凡尋求保全自己性命的、必失掉性命；凡失掉性命的、必保存性命以活着。

只知道聖靈在各城裏都向我鄭重地指證、說有鎖鍊和苦難等着我。但我不為性命作甚麼計算，而看為對自己有價值；比較起來，倒不如完盡了我的跑程、和我從主耶穌所領受的執事職任，鄭重證明上帝恩惠之福音。

別怕你所要受的苦了。看吧，魔鬼將要把你們中間幾個人丟在監裏，叫你們被試驗；你們就有苦難十日。你要忠信至死，我就將生命的華冠賜給你。

惜愛自己性命的、必失掉性命；不惜愛自己性命在這世界上的、必保守性命歸永生。

有婦人得了他們死去的親人復活過來。另有人被張如鼓、受重擊而死，不接受贖放，為要得復活到較好的生活。

弟兄們勝過他，是因着羔羊的血，因着他們所見證的道；他們又是至死不愛惜性命的。
