耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。

Then he said to them all:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to all of them,“ Whoever wants to follow me must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross every day and follow me.

And he said to all,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to the crowd,“ If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

不負其十架而從我者、亦不宜乎我也、得生命者將喪之、為我而喪生命者、將得之、○

人就我、而不憎其父母、妻子、兄弟、姊妹、與己生命者、不得為我徒、不負己之十架而從我者、亦不得為我徒、

遂召眾與門徒語之曰、欲從我者、當克己、負其十架以從、蓋欲救其生者將喪之、為我及福音喪其生者、將救之、利盡天下、而失其生、何益之有、人將以何者易其生乎、當此姦惡之世、凡恥我及我之道者、人子以父榮偕聖使而臨時、亦將恥其人矣、

爾若依形軀而生、則必死、惟以神而泯身之所行者、則必生、

愛其生者喪之、不愛其生於斯世者、將保之至永生、人役於我、則當從我、我所在、我役亦在焉、役於我者、我父將貴之、

教我儕棄絕不虔、與世俗之慾、而以貞正、公義、敬虔、度生於今世、

故當滅爾在地之肢體、即淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾、及貪婪、貪婪與拜像一也、

凡欲宗基督耶穌敬虔度生者、必受窘逐、

彼得援而諫之曰、主、不可、此必不及爾也、耶穌回顧彼得曰、撒但退、爾阻我、以爾不體上帝之事、乃體人之事耳、遂語其徒曰、欲從我者、當克己負其十架以從、蓋欲救其生者、將喪之、為我而喪其生者、將得之、

且我儕何為恆冒險哉、兄弟乎、我於我主基督耶穌、因爾而誇者為誓、我日日死矣、
