Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

又謂眾曰、欲從我者、當克己日負其十架以從、

亦謂眾曰、欲為吾徒、則當克己、日負十字架以從、

又謂眾曰、人欲從我、則當克己、日負其十字架而從我、

耶穌諭眾曰：『人欲從予、務宜克己、日負其十字架、而隨予後。

Then he said to them all:“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to all of them,“ Whoever wants to follow me must say no to themselves. They must pick up their cross every day and follow me.

And he said to all,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Then he said to the crowd,“ If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

And He was saying to them all,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Then He said to them all,“ If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

And he said to[ them] all, If any[ man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Then he said to them all,“ If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.

He said to all,“ If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

And whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.Anyone who finds his life will lose it, and anyone who loses his life because of me will find it.

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters— yes, and even his own life— he cannot be my disciple.Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

Calling the crowd along with his disciples, he said to them,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me and the gospel will save it.For what does it benefit someone to gain the whole world and yet lose his life?What can anyone give in exchange for his life?For whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

The one who loves his life will lose it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.If anyone serves me, he must follow me. Where I am, there my servant also will be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age,

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

In fact, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him,“ Oh no, Lord! This will never happen to you!”Jesus turned and told Peter,“ Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns but human concerns.”Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it.

Why are we in danger every hour?I face death every day, as surely as I may boast about you, brothers and sisters, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
