耶穌說：「你們給他們吃吧！」門徒說：「我們不過有五個餅，兩條魚，若不去為這許多人買食物就不夠。」

He replied,“ You give them something to eat.” They answered,“ We have only five loaves of bread and two fish— unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.”

But he said to them,“ You give them something to eat.” They said,“ We have no more than five loaves and two fish— unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.”

But Jesus said,“ You feed them.”“ But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.“ Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”

“ You give them something to eat,” he told them.“ We have no more than five loaves and two fish,” they said,“ unless we go and buy food for all these people.”

有施散的，卻更增添；有吝惜過度的，反致窮乏。好施捨的，必得豐裕；滋潤人的，必得滋潤。

有一個人從巴力‧沙利沙來，帶着初熟大麥做的餅二十個，並新穗子，裝在口袋裏送給神人。神人說：「把這些給眾人吃。」僕人說：「這一點豈可擺給一百人吃呢？」以利沙說：「你只管給眾人吃吧！因為耶和華如此說，眾人必吃了，還剩下。」

摩西對耶和華說：「這與我同住的百姓、步行的男人有六十萬，你還說：『我要把肉給他們，使他們可以吃一個整月。』難道給他們宰了羊羣牛羣，或是把海中所有的魚都聚了來，就夠他們吃嗎？」耶和華對摩西說：「耶和華的膀臂豈是縮短了嗎？現在要看我的話向你應驗不應驗。」

耶穌說：「不用他們去，你們給他們吃吧！」門徒說：「我們這裏只有五個餅，兩條魚。」

耶穌回答說：「你們給他們吃吧。」門徒說：「我們可以去買二十兩銀子的餅給他們吃嗎？」耶穌說：「你們有多少餅，可以去看看。」他們知道了，就說：「五個餅，兩條魚。」

耶穌舉目看見許多人來，就對腓力說：「我們從哪裏買餅叫這些人吃呢？」（他說這話是要試驗腓力；他自己原知道要怎樣行。）腓力回答說：「就是二十兩銀子的餅，叫他們各人吃一點也是不夠的。」有一個門徒，就是西門‧彼得的兄弟安得烈，對耶穌說：「在這裏有一個孩童，帶着五個大麥餅、兩條魚，只是分給這許多人還算甚麼呢？」
