But Jesus said,“ You feed them.”“ But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.“ Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”

有人乐善好施，反倒越来越富；有人一毛不拔，反而越来越穷。慷慨好施的必得昌盛，恩待他人的必蒙恩待。

从巴力·沙利沙来了一个人，他带了二十个用初熟大麦做的饼和一些麦穗送给上帝的仆人。上帝的仆人说：“分给众人吃吧。”仆人说：“这些怎么够一百人吃呢？”以利沙说：“你只管分给众人吃。因为耶和华说，‘众人都能吃饱，并且还会剩下。’”

摩西说：“和我同行的，仅男子就有六十万，你还说要让他们吃整整一个月的肉！就是把牛羊都宰了，把海里的鱼都捕来，恐怕也不够他们吃！”耶和华说：“难道我的臂膀能力不够吗？你很快将看见我的话会不会应验。”

耶稣回答说：“他们不用离开，你们给他们吃的吧。”门徒答道：“我们这里只有五个饼和两条鱼。”

耶稣说：“你们给他们吃的吧。”门徒说：“我们哪来这么多钱买东西给他们吃啊？”耶稣说：“看看你们有多少饼。”他们察看后，说：“有五个饼和两条鱼。”

耶稣举目看见一大群人向祂走来，就对腓力说：“我们到哪里去买饼给他们吃呢？”祂这样说是想试试腓力，其实祂知道应该怎么做。腓力回答说：“就算买二百个银币的饼，也不够他们每人一口啊！”另外一个门徒——西门·彼得的弟弟安得烈对耶稣说：“这里有个小孩子带了五个大麦饼和两条鱼。不过，这么多人，这一点东西实在无济于事。”
