When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said,“ Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

Late in the afternoon the 12 disciples came to him. They said,“ Send the crowd away. They can go to the nearby villages and countryside. There they can find food and a place to stay. There is nothing here.”

Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”

Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said,“ Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to him,“ Send the crowd away, so that they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

Now the day was ending, and the twelve came up and said to Him,“ Dismiss the crowd, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; because here, we are in a secluded place.”

And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place.

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to Him,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

Now the day began to draw to a close, so the twelve came and said to Jesus,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and food, because we are in an isolated place.”

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying,“ Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

Yes, they spoke against God: They said,“ Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?Behold, He struck the rock, So that the waters gushed out, And the streams overflowed. Can He give bread also? Can He provide meat for His people?”

When the day was now far spent, His disciples came to Him and said,“ This is a deserted place, and already the hour is late.Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat.”But He answered and said to them,“ You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him,“ Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”But He said to them,“ How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they found out they said,“ Five, and two fish.”Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass.So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties.And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.So they all ate and were filled.And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish.Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men.

When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying,“ This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”But Jesus said to them,“ They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”And they said to Him,“ We have here only five loaves and two fish.”He said,“ Bring them here to Me.”Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said,“ I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip,“ Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.Philip answered Him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,“ There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”Then Jesus said,“ Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.So when they were filled, He said to His disciples,“ Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said,“ This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.

After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.

I knew you in the wilderness, In the land of great drought.
