Now the day was ending, and the twelve came up and said to Him,“ Dismiss the crowd, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; because here, we are in a secluded place.”

Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said,“ Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

Late in the afternoon the 12 disciples came to him. They said,“ Send the crowd away. They can go to the nearby villages and countryside. There they can find food and a place to stay. There is nothing here.”

Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”

Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said,“ Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to him,“ Send the crowd away, so that they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place.

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to Him,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

Now the day began to draw to a close, so the twelve came and said to Jesus,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and food, because we are in an isolated place.”

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

But He did not answer her with even a word. And His disciples came up and urged Him, saying,“ Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us!”

Then they spoke against God; They said,“ Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?Behold, He struck the rock so that waters gushed out, And streams were overflowing; Can He also provide bread? Will He prepare meat for His people?”

And when it was already late, His disciples came up to Him and said,“ This place is secluded and it is already late;send them away so that they may go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”But He answered them,“ You give them something to eat!” And they* said to Him,“ Shall we go and spend two hundred denarii on bread, and give it to them to eat?”But He* said to them,“ How many loaves do you have? Go look!” And when they found out, they* said,“ Five, and two fish.”And He ordered them all to recline by groups on the green grass.They reclined in groups of hundreds and fifties.And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food and broke the loaves and He gave them to the disciples again and again to set before them; and He divided the two fish among them all.And they all ate and were satisfied;and they picked up twelve full baskets of the broken pieces of bread, and of the fish.There were five thousand men who ate the loaves.

Now when it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said,“ This place is secluded and the hour is already past to eat; send the crowds away, so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”But Jesus said to them,“ They do not need to go; you give them something to eat!”They* said to Him,“ We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish.”And He said,“ Bring them here to Me.”And ordering the crowds to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looked up toward heaven. He blessed the food and breaking the loaves, He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.And they all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over of the broken pieces: twelve full baskets.There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children.

Now Jesus called His disciples to Him and said,“ I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.”

So Jesus, after raising His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him,* said to Philip,“ Where are we to buy bread so that these people may eat?”But He was saying this only to test him, for He Himself knew what He intended to do.Philip answered Him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, for each to receive just a little!”One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother,* said to Him,“ There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what are these for so many people?”Jesus said,“ Have the people recline to eat.” Now there was plenty of grass in the place. So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.Jesus then took the loaves, and after giving thanks He distributed them to those who were reclining; likewise also of the fish, as much as they wanted.And when they had eaten their fill, He* said to His disciples,“ Gather up the leftover pieces so that nothing will be lost.”So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with pieces from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said,“ This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”So Jesus, aware that they intended to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself, alone.

After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee( or Tiberias).

I cared for you in the wilderness, In the land of drought.

“ And I will make a covenant of peace with them and eliminate harmful animals from the land, so that they may live securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.
