Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said,“ Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

Late in the afternoon the 12 disciples came to him. They said,“ Send the crowd away. They can go to the nearby villages and countryside. There they can find food and a place to stay. There is nothing here.”

Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”

Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said,“ Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to him,“ Send the crowd away, so that they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

Now the day was ending, and the twelve came up and said to Him,“ Dismiss the crowd, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; because here, we are in a secluded place.”

When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place.

Late in the day, the Twelve approached and said to Him,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find food and lodging, because we are in a deserted place here.”

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

Now the day began to draw to a close, so the twelve came and said to Jesus,“ Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and food, because we are in an isolated place.”

The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him,“ Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

耶穌卻一言不答。門徒進前來，求他說：「這婦人在我們後頭喊叫，請打發她走吧。」

並且妄論神說：神在曠野豈能擺設筵席嗎？他曾擊打磐石，使水湧出，成了江河；他還能賜糧食嗎？還能為他的百姓預備肉嗎？

天已經晚了，門徒進前來，說：「這是野地，天已經晚了，請叫眾人散開，他們好往四面鄉村裏去，自己買甚麼吃。」耶穌回答說：「你們給他們吃吧。」門徒說：「我們可以去買二十兩銀子的餅給他們吃嗎？」耶穌說：「你們有多少餅，可以去看看。」他們知道了，就說：「五個餅，兩條魚。」耶穌吩咐他們，叫眾人一幫一幫地坐在青草地上。眾人就一排一排地坐下，有一百一排的，有五十一排的。耶穌拿着這五個餅，兩條魚，望着天祝福，擘開餅，遞給門徒，擺在眾人面前，也把那兩條魚分給眾人。他們都吃，並且吃飽了。門徒就把碎餅碎魚收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。吃餅的男人共有五千。

天將晚的時候，門徒進前來，說：「這是野地，時候已經過了，請叫眾人散開，他們好往村子裏去，自己買吃的。」耶穌說：「不用他們去，你們給他們吃吧！」門徒說：「我們這裏只有五個餅，兩條魚。」耶穌說：「拿過來給我。」於是吩咐眾人坐在草地上，就拿着這五個餅，兩條魚，望着天祝福，擘開餅，遞給門徒，門徒又遞給眾人。他們都吃，並且吃飽了，把剩下的零碎收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。吃的人，除了婦女孩子，約有五千。

耶穌叫門徒來，說：「我憐憫這眾人；因為他們同我在這裏已經三天，也沒有吃的了。我不願意叫他們餓着回去，恐怕在路上困乏。」

耶穌舉目看見許多人來，就對腓力說：「我們從哪裏買餅叫這些人吃呢？」（他說這話是要試驗腓力；他自己原知道要怎樣行。）腓力回答說：「就是二十兩銀子的餅，叫他們各人吃一點也是不夠的。」有一個門徒，就是西門‧彼得的兄弟安得烈，對耶穌說：「在這裏有一個孩童，帶着五個大麥餅、兩條魚，只是分給這許多人還算甚麼呢？」耶穌說：「你們叫眾人坐下。」原來那地方的草多，眾人就坐下，數目約有五千。耶穌拿起餅來，祝謝了，就分給那坐着的人；分魚也是這樣，都隨着他們所要的。他們吃飽了，耶穌對門徒說：「把剩下的零碎收拾起來，免得有糟蹋的。」他們便將那五個大麥餅的零碎，就是眾人吃了剩下的，收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。眾人看見耶穌所行的神蹟，就說：「這真是那要到世間來的先知！」耶穌既知道眾人要來強逼他作王，就獨自又退到山上去了。

這事以後，耶穌渡過加利利海，就是提比哩亞海。

我曾在曠野乾旱之地認識你。

「我必與他們立平安的約，使惡獸從境內斷絕，他們就必安居在曠野，躺臥在林中。
