以利亞對她說：『把你兒子交給我。』以利亞就從婦人懷中將孩子接過來，抱上去到自己所住的房頂屋裏，讓孩子躺在以利亞自己的床上。他就向永恆主哀呼說：『永恆主我的上帝啊，我寄居在這寡婦家裏，難道你竟降禍於她，使她的兒子死了麼？』以利亞身對身地伏在孩子身上三次，向永恆主哀呼說：『永恆主我的上帝啊，叫這孩子魂回身上吧！』永恆主聽了以利亞的聲音；孩子魂回，他就活了。以利亞將孩子抱起來，從房頂屋子抱下來到屋子裏，交給他母親，說：『看哪，你兒子活了。』

他不嚷叫，不揚聲，不使街上聽到他的聲音。

於是帶着彼得雅各和約翰、同他到一邊去，就非常驚恐，極其難過。

然後進屋裏，把門關上，使你和你兒子在裏面，將油倒在所有那些器皿裏，倒滿了的放在一邊。』於是婦人離開了以利沙而去、照這樣作：她把門關上，使自己和兒子在裏面；兒子把器皿拿到她跟前，她就倒油。器皿都滿了，她對兒子說：『再把器皿拿到我跟前來。』兒子對她說：『再沒有器皿了。』於是油就止住了。

說了這些話以後、約有八天，耶穌帶着彼得約翰雅各上山去禱告。

『你們禱告的時候，不可像假冒為善的人、喜愛在會堂裏、在大街的彎角上、站着禱告，好對人顯明着。我實在告訴你們，他們已經收到了他們的賞報了。不；你禱告的時候、要進你的內屋，關上門，禱告你隱密中的父；你父在隱密中察看的，必報給你。

他不許任何人跟隨着他，只許彼得雅各和雅各的兄弟約翰。他們來到會堂管事家裏，耶穌看了嚷亂嘈嗷和許多哭泣號慟，就進去，對他們說：『你們為甚麼嚷亂嘈嗷哭泣呢？小孩子並沒死掉，只是睡着。』他們直嗤笑耶穌。耶穌催趕了眾人都出來，就帶着小孩子的父親母親、和跟他同來的人、進了小孩子所在的地方；

就是西門，他也稱他為彼得，還有他的兄弟安得烈、雅各和約翰、腓力和巴多羅買、

彼得催迫眾人出去，就跪下禱告，轉身對屍體說：『大比大，起來！』那婦人就睜開眼睛，看見彼得、便坐起來。

又在床伏在孩子身上，使口對口，眼對眼，手掌對手掌；既俯伏在孩子身上，孩子的肉身就漸漸溫暖起來。然後以利沙就下來、在屋裏來回地走了一趟；又上去、俯伏在孩子身上；孩子打了噴嚏、打到七次；然後孩子就睜開眼睛。以利沙叫基哈西來，說：『你叫那書念婦人來。』他就去叫她。婦人來到以利沙面前，以利沙說：『將你兒子抱起來。』
