以利亚对她说：“把你的儿子交给我吧！”以利亚就从她的怀中把孩子接过来，抱他上到自己所住的楼上去，放在自己的床上。以利亚呼求耶和华说：“耶和华我的神啊，我寄居在这寡妇的家里，你也降祸与她，使她的儿子死去吗？”然后，以利亚三次伏在孩子的身上，向耶和华呼求说：“耶和华我的神，求你恢复这孩子的生命吧。”耶和华垂听了以利亚的话，孩子的生命果然恢复，活过来了。以利亚把孩子抱起来，从楼上下到屋子里去，把孩子交给他的母亲；以利亚说：“看，你的儿子活了！”

他不呼喊，也不扬声，也不叫人在街上听见他的声音。

他带了彼得、雅各、约翰一起去，就惊惧起来，非常难过。

然后回去，把你和你儿子关在家里，你要把油倒在所有器皿里面，装满了的就放在一边。”于是妇人离开了他，把自己和儿子关在门内；她的儿子不住地把器皿拿到她面前，她就把油倒进去。器皿都倒满了的时候，她对儿子说：“再拿一个器皿给我。”他对她说：“再没有器皿了。”油就止住了。

说了这些话以后约有八天，耶稣带着彼得、约翰和雅各，上山去祷告。

“你们祈祷的时候，不可像伪君子；他们喜欢在会堂和路口站着祈祷，好让人看见。我实在告诉你们，他们已经得了他们的赏赐。但你祈祷的时候，要进到密室里去，关上门，向在隐密中的父祈祷。你父在隐密中察看，必定报答你。

于是他不许别人跟他一起去，只带了彼得、雅各和雅各的弟弟约翰。他们来到会堂主管的家，耶稣看见许多人哭泣哀号，一片混乱，就走进去，对众人说：“为什么大哭大嚷呢？孩子不是死了，是睡着了。”众人就嘲笑他。耶稣把众人都赶出去，带着孩子的父母和跟随他的门徒，进入孩子所在的房间。

就是西门（又给他起名叫彼得），和他弟弟安得烈，以及雅各、约翰、腓力、巴多罗迈、

彼得叫大家出去之后，就跪下来祷告，然后转过身来对着尸体说：“戴比莎，起来！”她就睁开眼睛，一看见彼得，就坐了起来。

他又上床伏在孩子身上，使自己的口对着孩子的口，自己的眼对着孩子的眼，自己的手放在孩子的手上；他伏在孩子身上，孩子的身体就渐渐温暖起来。然后他下来在房内来回走了一趟，再上去，伏在孩子身上；那孩子打了七个喷嚏，跟着就张开了眼睛。神人呼唤基哈西，说：“你去叫那书念的妇人来。”他就去叫她，她来到他那里，他就说：“把你的儿子抱起来。”
