Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house

And one of the synagogue officials, named Jairus,* came, and upon seeing Him,* fell at His feetand* pleaded with Him earnestly, saying,“ My little daughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live.”And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him.A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years,and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but instead had become worse—after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak.For she had been saying to herself,“ If I just touch His garments, I will get well.”And immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power from Him had gone out, turned around in the crowd and said,“ Who touched My garments?”And His disciples said to Him,“ You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say,‘ Who touched Me?’ ”And He looked around to see the woman who had done this.But the woman, fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.And He said to her,“ Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be cured of your disease.”While He was still speaking, people* came from the house of the synagogue official, saying,“ Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher further?”But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken,* said to the synagogue official,“ Do not be afraid, only believe.”And He allowed no one to accompany Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.They* came to the house of the synagogue official, and He* saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing.And after entering, He* said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child has not died, but is asleep.”And they began laughing at Him. But putting them all outside, He* took along the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and* entered the room where the child was in bed.And taking the child by the hand, He* said to her,“ Talitha, kum!”( which translated means,“ Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).And immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astonished.And He gave them strict orders that no one was to know about this, and He told them to have something given her to eat.

While He was still speaking, someone* came from the house of the synagogue official, saying,“ Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.”

But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response,“ There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord together with his entire household; and many of the Corinthians, as they listened to Paul, were believing and being baptized.

After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue officials sent word to them, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.”

But they all took hold of Sosthenes, the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of the judgment seat. And yet Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.

While He was saying these things to them, behold, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said,“ My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will become alive again.”Jesus got up from the table and began to accompany him, along with His disciples.And behold, a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind Him, and touched the border of His cloak;for she was saying to herself,“ If I only touch His cloak, I will get well.”But Jesus, turning and seeing her, said,“ Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well.” And at once the woman was made well.When Jesus came into the official’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd in noisy disorder,He said,“ Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him.But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.And this news spread throughout that land.

Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him,“ Do not delay in coming to us.”

Martha then said to Jesus,“ Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

Therefore He came again to Cana of Galilee, where He had made the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum.When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and began asking Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.Then Jesus said to him,“ Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”The royal official* said to Him,“ Sir, come down before my child dies.”

But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying,“ Go away from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man!”

Jesus* said to him,“ I will come and heal him.”But the centurion replied,“ Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan.

When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
