Now the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying,

惟脫魔者求與偕往、耶穌遣之歸、

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him.However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him,“ Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.

Then the whole multitude of the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. And He got into the boat and returned.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, And praise Him in the company of the elders.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works.Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness.They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your righteousness.The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.All Your works shall praise You, O Lord, And Your saints shall bless You.They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your power,To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.

You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast, and take oaths in His name.He is your praise, and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen.

But they were hearing only,“ He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.”And they glorified God in me.

O Lord, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my bonds.

And you shall tell your son in that day, saying,‘ This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’It shall be as a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the LORD’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.

although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.

Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children,

For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah

It will come to pass when you come to the land which the Lord will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service.And it shall be, when your children say to you,‘ What do you mean by this service?’that you shall say,‘ It is the Passover sacrifice of the Lord, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.’” So the people bowed their heads and worshiped.

So it shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying,‘ What is this?’ that you shall say to him,‘ By strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.And it came to pass, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the Lord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast. Therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all males that open the womb, but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.’It shall be as a sign on your hand and as frontlets between your eyes, for by strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt.”

O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord And the praises of the Lord, According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, According to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.For He said,“ Surely they are My people, Children who will not lie.” So He became their Savior.In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All the days of old.But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying:“ Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them,Who led them by the right hand of Moses, With His glorious arm, Dividing the water before them To make for Himself an everlasting name,Who led them through the deep, As a horse in the wilderness, That they might not stumble?”

What shall I render to the Lord For all His benefits toward me?

Then Ananias answered,“ Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.”But the Lord said to him,“ Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

The works of the Lord are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them.His work is honorable and glorious, And His righteousness endures forever.He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said,“ What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.
