The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

The man from whom the demons had departed kept begging Him to be with Him. But He sent him away and said,

Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

And as He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed was begging Him that he might accompany Him.And He did not let him, but He* said to him,“ Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.”And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.

And all the people of the territory of the Gerasenes and the surrounding region asked Him to leave them, because they were overwhelmed by great fear; and He got into a boat and returned.

They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind!They shall also exalt Him in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders.

Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.One generation will praise Your works to another, And will declare Your mighty acts.On the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.People will speak of the power of Your awesome acts, And I will tell of Your greatness.They will burst forth in speaking of Your abundant goodness, And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.The Lord is gracious and compassionate; Slow to anger and great in mercy.The Lord is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works.All Your works will give thanks to You, Lord, And Your godly ones will bless You.They will speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your might,To make known to the sons of mankind Your mighty acts, And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom.

You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.He is your glory and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.

but they only kept hearing,“ The man who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once tried to destroy.”And they were glorifying God because of me.

O Lord, I surely am Your slave, I am Your slave, the son of Your female slave, You have unfastened my restraints.

And you shall tell your son on that day, saying,‘ It is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’And it shall serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder on your forehead, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the Lord brought you out of Egypt.

even though I was previously a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind!They shall also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing.

Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.We will not conceal them from their children, But we will tell the generation to come the praises of the Lord, And His power and His wondrous works that He has done.For He established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers That they were to teach them to their children,So that the generation to come would know, the children yet to be born, That they would arise and tell them to their children,

But I am hard pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;

You are my hiding place; You keep me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah

When you enter the land which the Lord will give you, as He has promised, you shall keep this rite.And when your children say to you,‘ What does this rite mean to you?’then you shall say,‘ It is a Passover sacrifice to the Lord because He passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians, but spared our homes.’ ” And the people bowed low and worshiped.

And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying,‘ What is this?’ then you shall say to him,‘ With a powerful hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery.And it came about, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the Lord put to death every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from human firstborns to animal firstborns. Therefore, I sacrifice to the Lord the males, every firstborn of a womb, but every firstborn of my sons I redeem.’So it shall serve as a sign on your hand and as phylacteries on your forehead, for with a powerful hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt.”

God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.And even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.

I will make mention of the mercies of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, According to all that the Lord has granted us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has granted them according to His compassion And according to the abundance of His mercies.For He said,“ Certainly they are My people, Sons who will not deal falsely.” So He became their Savior.In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.But they rebelled And grieved His Holy Spirit; Therefore He turned Himself to become their enemy, He fought against them.Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them,Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, Who divided the waters before them to make for Himself an everlasting name,Who led them through the depths? Like the horse in the wilderness, they did not stumble;

What shall I repay to the Lord For all His benefits to me?

But Ananias answered,“ Lord, I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints in Jerusalem;and here he has authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”But the Lord said to him,“ Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;for I will show him how much he must suffer in behalf of My name.”

Great are the works of the Lord; They are studied by all who delight in them.Splendid and majestic is His work, And His righteousness endures forever.He has caused His wonders to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and compassionate.

And seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell down before Him, and said with a loud voice,“ What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.
