於是來勸他們，領他們出來，請他們離開那城。

婦人對以利亞說：「神人哪，我跟你有甚麼關係，你竟到我這裏來，使神記起我的罪，以致我的兒子死了呢？」

伯‧示麥人說：「誰能在耶和華這位聖潔的神面前侍立呢？這約櫃可以從我們這裏上到誰那裏去呢？」

全城的人都出來迎見耶穌，見了他以後，就央求他離開他們的地區。

凡不接待你們的，你們離開那城的時候，要跺掉你們腳上的塵土，證明他們的不是。」

無論進哪一城，人若不接待你們，你們就到大街上去，說：『就是你們城裏的塵土黏在我們的腳上，我們也當着你們擦去。但是，你們該知道神的國臨近了。』

他看見耶穌，就喊叫着俯伏在他面前，大聲說：「至高神的兒子耶穌，你為甚麼干擾我？我求你，不要叫我受苦！」

他們對神說：『離開我們吧！我們不想知道你的道路。全能者是誰，我們何必事奉他呢？求告他有甚麼益處呢？』

現在這大火將要吞滅我們，我們何必死呢？若再聽見耶和華我們神的聲音，我們就必死。

耶穌又對門徒說：「聽從你們的就是聽從我；棄絕你們的就是棄絕我；棄絕我的就是棄絕差遣我來的那位。」

眾人就央求耶穌離開他們的地區。

大衛因耶和華突然衝出撞死烏撒就生氣，稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。那日，大衛懼怕耶和華，說：「耶和華的約櫃怎可到我這裏來呢？」
