The disciples went and woke him, saying,“ Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.

The disciples went and woke Jesus up. They said,“ Master! Master! We’re going to drown!” He got up and ordered the wind and the huge waves to stop. The storm quieted down. It was completely calm.

And they went and woke him, saying,“ Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm.

The disciples went and woke him up, shouting,“ Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.

Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

You still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.

For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves.They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble.They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress.He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.

Save me, God, for the waters have come up to my neck!I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

Waters flowed over my head. I said,“ I am cut off.”I called on your name, Yahweh, out of the lowest dungeon.You heard my voice:“ Don’t hide your ear from my sighing, and my cry.”

Don’t you fear me?’ says Yahweh‘ Won’t you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can’t pass it? Though its waves toss themselves, yet they can’t prevail. Though they roar, they still can’t pass over it.’

Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him,“ They have no wine.”Jesus said to her,“ Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”His mother said to the servants,“ Whatever he says to you, do it.”Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.

But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying,“ Lord, save me!”

You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains.At your rebuke they fled. At the voice of your thunder they hurried away.The mountains rose, the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them.You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, that they don’t turn again to cover the earth.

Look on my right, and see; for there is no one who is concerned for me. Refuge has fled from me. No one cares for my soul.I cried to you, Yahweh. I said,“ You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”

He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languishes.

The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.Then I called on Yahweh’s name:“ Yahweh, I beg you, deliver my soul.”

Simon answered him,“ Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.”

Why, when I came, was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can’t redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water, and die of thirst.
