The disciples went and woke him, saying,“ Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.

Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.

And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she rose and began to serve them.

who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples,

For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea.They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight;they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me.

Do you not fear me? declares the Lord. Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out,“ Lord, save me.”

You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight.The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them.You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth.

He rebukes the sea and makes it dry; he dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither; the bloom of Lebanon withers.

The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish.Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

And Simon answered,“ Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”

Why, when I came, was there no man; why, when I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, by my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst.
