主啊，求你醒來，你為何沉睡？求你起來，不要永遠丟棄我們。

可是出發不久，便遇到從島上颳來的猛烈的東北風，船被颳得失去控制，我們只好任船隨風漂流。船沿著一個叫高達的小島的背風面前進，大家好不容易才控制住救生船。水手把救生船拉上甲板後，又用繩索加固船身。因為怕船會在賽耳底擱淺，於是收起船帆，任船漂流。第二天，風浪依然猛烈，他們開始把貨物拋進海裡。第三天，他們又親手把船上的用具也拋掉了。一連好幾天都看不到太陽、星辰，風浪肆虐，我們完全放棄了得救的指望。

耶和華啊，大海澎湃怒吼，波浪滔天。高天之上的耶和華充滿力量，超過咆哮的洪水和怒吼的大海。

有一天，耶穌對門徒說：「我們到湖的對岸去吧。」於是他們坐船前往對岸。

若不是耶和華幫助我們，仇敵起來攻擊我們、向我們發怒的時候，我們早已被他們生吞，被狂濤淹沒，被洪流捲走，

「困苦不堪、飽經風雨、得不著安慰的城啊，我要以彩石作你的地基，用藍寶石來建造你，

耶和華啊，伸出臂膀，施展能力吧，像在從前的世代一樣施展你的能力吧！難道不是你砍碎了拉哈伯，刺死了海怪嗎？難道不是你使海洋和深淵乾涸，在海中開出道路讓蒙救贖的人穿過的嗎？

有些人乘船在汪洋大海上經商，他們看見了耶和華的作為，看見了祂在深海所行的奇事。祂一聲令下，狂風大作，巨浪滔天。他們的船隻忽而被拋向半空，忽而落入深淵，他們嚇得面無人色，東倒西歪，如同醉漢，束手無策。於是，他們在患難中呼求耶和華，耶和華便拯救他們脫離困境。祂使狂風止息，海浪平靜。他們因風平浪靜而歡喜，祂帶領他們到所嚮往的港灣。

火焰、冰雹、雪花、雲霞和聽祂吩咐的狂風啊，

因為我們這位大祭司並非不能體恤我們的軟弱，祂與我們一樣曾經面對各樣的試探，卻從來沒有犯罪。
