主啊，求你醒来，你为何沉睡？求你起来，不要永远丢弃我们。

可是出发不久，便遇到从岛上刮来的猛烈的东北风，船被刮得失去控制，我们只好任船随风漂流。船沿着一个叫高达的小岛的背风面前进，大家好不容易才控制住救生船。水手把救生船拉上甲板后，又用绳索加固船身。因为怕船会在赛耳底搁浅，于是收起船帆，任船漂流。第二天，风浪依然猛烈，他们开始把货物抛进海里。第三天，他们又亲手把船上的用具也抛掉了。一连好几天都看不到太阳、星辰，风浪肆虐，我们完全放弃了得救的指望。

耶和华啊，大海澎湃怒吼，波浪滔天。高天之上的耶和华充满力量，超过咆哮的洪水和怒吼的大海。

有一天，耶稣对门徒说：“我们到湖的对岸去吧。”于是他们坐船前往对岸。

若不是耶和华帮助我们，仇敌起来攻击我们、向我们发怒的时候，我们早已被他们生吞，被狂涛淹没，被洪流卷走，

“困苦不堪、饱经风雨、得不着安慰的城啊，我要以彩石作你的地基，用蓝宝石来建造你，

耶和华啊，伸出臂膀，施展能力吧，像在从前的世代一样施展你的能力吧！难道不是你砍碎了拉哈伯，刺死了海怪吗？难道不是你使海洋和深渊干涸，在海中开出道路让蒙救赎的人穿过的吗？

有些人乘船在汪洋大海上经商，他们看见了耶和华的作为，看见了祂在深海所行的奇事。祂一声令下，狂风大作，巨浪滔天。他们的船只忽而被抛向半空，忽而落入深渊，他们吓得面无人色，东倒西歪，如同醉汉，束手无策。于是，他们在患难中呼求耶和华，耶和华便拯救他们脱离困境。祂使狂风止息，海浪平静。他们因风平浪静而欢喜，祂带领他们到所向往的港湾。

火焰、冰雹、雪花、云霞和听祂吩咐的狂风啊，

因为我们这位大祭司并非不能体恤我们的软弱，祂与我们一样曾经面对各样的试探，却从来没有犯罪。
