One day Jesus said to his disciples,“ Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out.

But Jesus was sleeping.The disciples went and woke him up, shouting,“ Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”Jesus responded,“ Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.The disciples were amazed.“ Who is this man?” they asked.“ Even the winds and waves obey him!”

As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples,“ Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind( although other boats followed).But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting,“ Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves,“ Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.Then he asked them,“ Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”The disciples were absolutely terrified.“ Who is this man?” they asked each other.“ Even the wind and waves obey him!”

After this, Jesus crossed over to the far side of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias.

So he got back into the boat and left them, and he crossed to the other side of the lake.

One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.

Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and head across the lake to Bethsaida, while he sent the people home.

Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore.

As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger.

When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he instructed his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake.
