耶穌上了船，他的門徒跟着他。海裏忽然起了大風暴，甚至船都給波浪掩蓋着；耶穌卻逕自睡着。門徒上前來叫醒了他、說：『主啊，援救哦！我們喪命啦！』耶穌對他們說：『小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯？』便起來，斥責風和海，就大大平靜了。那些人都希奇說：『這是甚麼樣的人啊？連風跟海也聽從他！』

當那一天，到了傍晚，耶穌對他們說：『我們渡到那邊去吧。』他們就離開羣眾，照他在船上的情況把他帶走；還有別的船也跟他在一起。當下起了大暴風，波浪潑進船內，甚至船簡直滿了！耶穌竟在船尾上靠着枕頭睡覺呢；門徒就叫醒了他，對他說：『老師，我們喪命，你不在意麼？』耶穌醒起來，斥責那風，向海說：『不要作聲！噤默罷！』那風不狂吹，便大大平靜了。耶穌對他們說：『為甚麼這麼膽怯呢？怎麼沒有信心呢？』他們就大起了敬畏的心，直彼此說：『這個人到底是誰？連風和海也聽從他！』

這些事以後，耶穌往加利利海、就是提庇哩亞海、那邊去。

就離開他們，又上船，往那邊去了。

耶穌在革尼撒勒湖邊站着；羣眾擠他、要聽上帝的道；

耶穌隨即催門徒上船，先到那邊，到伯賽大去，等他自己解散羣眾。

正行的時候、耶穌睡着了。有一陣暴風下到湖上來了；他們滿了水，危險着呢！

耶穌看見一大羣人在他周圍，就吩咐要往那邊去。
