耶穌上了船，門徒跟着他。海裏忽然起了暴風，甚至船被波浪掩蓋；耶穌卻睡着了。門徒來叫醒了他，說：「主啊，救我們，我們喪命啦！」耶穌說：「你們這小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯呢？」於是起來，斥責風和海，風和海就大大地平靜了。眾人希奇，說：「這是怎樣的人？連風和海也聽從他了！」

當那天晚上，耶穌對門徒說：「我們渡到那邊去吧。」門徒離開眾人，耶穌仍在船上，他們就把他一同帶去；也有別的船和他同行。忽然起了暴風，波浪打入船內，甚至船要滿了水。耶穌在船尾上，枕着枕頭睡覺。門徒叫醒了他，說：「夫子！我們喪命，你不顧嗎？」耶穌醒了，斥責風，向海說：「住了吧！靜了吧！」風就止住，大大地平靜了。耶穌對他們說：「為甚麼膽怯？你們還沒有信心嗎？」他們就大大地懼怕，彼此說：「這到底是誰，連風和海也聽從他了。」

這事以後，耶穌渡過加利利海，就是提比哩亞海。

他就離開他們，又上船往海那邊去了。

耶穌站在革尼撒勒湖邊，眾人擁擠他，要聽神的道。

耶穌隨即催門徒上船，先渡到那邊伯賽大去，等他叫眾人散開。

正行的時候，耶穌睡着了。湖上忽然起了暴風，船將滿了水，甚是危險。

耶穌見許多人圍着他，就吩咐渡到那邊去。
