There were also women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.In Galilee these women followed him and took care of him. Many other women had come up with him to Jerusalem.

Early on the first day of the week, after he had risen, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.

Many women who had followed Jesus from Galilee and looked after him were there, watching from a distance.Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

They all were continually united in prayer, along with the women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

“ What is your name?” Jesus asked him.“ Legion,” he said, because many demons had entered him.

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

The women who had come with him from Galilee followed along and observed the tomb and how his body was placed.

But all who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

A large crowd of people followed him, including women who were mourning and lamenting him.

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they could go and anoint him.
