為了開啟他們的眼睛，使他們從黑暗歸向光明，從撒旦的權勢下歸向神，使他們因著信我，罪得赦免，並且與那些被分別為聖的人同得繼業。』

耶穌又對他們說：「油燈拿進來，難道是為了放在斗底下，或床底下嗎？不是為了放在燈臺上嗎？這樣，就算是隱祕的事，也沒有不顯明出來的；即使是隱藏的事，也沒有不顯露出來的。

好使你們成為無可指責、純潔無偽的人，在這扭曲、敗壞的世代中，做神毫無瑕疵的兒女；在這世代中，要像星星的光輝一樣照耀在世上。你們要持守生命的話語，好讓我在基督的日子裡可以誇耀我所奔跑的沒有落空，我所勞苦的也沒有落空。

你所看見的，我右手中的七顆星，和這七座金燈臺的奧祕就是：七顆星是七個教會的使者，七座燈臺是七個教會。「你要給那在以弗所教會的使者寫信說：「那位右手握著七顆星、在七座金燈臺中間行走的，這樣說：

人點亮了油燈，也不會放在斗底下，而會放在燈臺上，它就照亮屋子裡所有的人。同樣，你們的光也應當照耀在人前，使他們看見你們的美好工作，就榮耀你們在天上的父。

這兩個人就是站在大地之主面前的那兩棵橄欖樹、那兩座燈臺。
