答曰、天主國之奧、乃賜爾知之、惟於他人則設喻、使其視亦不見、聽亦不悟、

耶穌曰：『天主國之奧義、賜爾知之；為他人惟設譬而已。彼乃所謂視而不見、聞而不悟者也。

He said,“ The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,“‘ though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’

He said,“ You have been given the chance to understand the secrets of God’s kingdom. But to outsiders I speak by using stories. In that way,“‘ They see, but they will not know what they are seeing. They hear, but they will not understand what they are hearing.’( Isaiah 6:9)

he said,“ To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that‘ seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

He replied,“ You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables to teach the others so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled:‘ When they look, they won’t really see. When they hear, they won’t understand.’

And He said,“ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest they are told in parables, so that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.

And He said,“ To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that‘ Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.’

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to the rest in parables; that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

So He said,“ The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so that Looking they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

He said,“ You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that although they see they may not see, and although they hear they may not understand.

He said,“ To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest in parables; that‘ seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

And he replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.

He answered them,“ The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those outside, everything comes in parables

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.

Such people do not comprehend and cannot understand, for he has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand.

He answered,“ Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.For whoever has, more will be given to him, and he will have more than enough; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.That is why I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand.Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, but never understand; you will look and look, but never perceive.For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back— and I would heal them.“ Blessed are your eyes because they do see, and your ears because they do hear.For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see the things you see but didn’t see them, to hear the things you hear but didn’t hear them.

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people. They have eyes, but they don’t see. They have ears, but they don’t hear.

I want their hearts to be encouraged and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of complete understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery— Christ.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation about Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept silent for long ages

the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

when he said, Go to these people and say: You will always be listening, but never understanding; and you will always be looking, but never perceiving.For the hearts of these people have grown callous, their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.And David says, Let their table become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and their backs be bent continually.

Jesus responded,“ Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.

The secret counsel of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he reveals his covenant to them.

Yet to this day the LORD has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.

One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.

Therefore, I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise will vanish, and the perception of their perceptive will be hidden.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated.They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he testified in advance to the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.

On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined before the ages for our glory.None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, because if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.But as it is written, What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived— God has prepared these things for those who love him.Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.For who knows a person’s thoughts except his spirit within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.

And most certainly, the mystery of godliness is great: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

At that time he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal him.”Then turning to his disciples he said privately,“ Blessed are the eyes that see the things you see!For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things you see but didn’t see them; to hear the things you hear but didn’t hear them.”

The mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have briefly written above.By reading this you are able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ.This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit:The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of his power.This grace was given to me— the least of all the saints— to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of Christ,and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things.
