For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and that one,‘ Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.

做僕人的，你們凡事要聽從按肉身做主人的；別單用眼見的服事、像只討人喜歡的，卻要用純誠的心而敬畏主。

向他說話的天使離開了之後，哥尼流便叫了兩個家僕、和常伺候他的一個敬虔的兵來，把一切事向他們述說一遍，就差遣他們往約帕去。

保羅便請了一個百夫長來，說：『請把這個壯年人帶去見千夫長；他有事要報告他。』

士兵剛用皮條將保羅反綁起來時，保羅對旁邊站着的百夫長說：『你們鞭笞了一個人，是羅馬人，又是沒受定罪的，可以麼？』百夫長聽見了，就上千夫長跟前報告說：『你要怎麼辦呢？這人是個羅馬人呀！』

凡負軛為僕人的、應當以自己的主人為配受各樣尊敬的，免得上帝的名、以及教義、受謗讟。做主人的若是信徒，做僕人的不可因他們是弟兄就輕看他們；倒要因那享得服事之益的是信徒、是蒙愛的人、而加意服事他們。你要將這些事教訓人，勸勉人。

於是吩咐百夫長看守保羅，讓他寬鬆舒適，也不要攔阻他自己的人來供事他。

千夫長便叫兩個百夫長來，說：『豫備步兵二百，好走到該撒利亞；還要馬兵七十，輕裝兵二百，巡哨到今夜九點鐘。』
