蓋予亦屬人權下、士卒又處予權下、諭此曰去即去、呼彼曰來即來、凡有所命、僕必從焉。』

For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one,‘ Go,’ and he goes; and that one,‘ Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant,‘ Do this,’ and he does it.

你們作僕人的，要凡事聽從世上的主人，作事不要只作給人看，像那些討人歡心的一樣，卻要以真誠的心敬畏主。

和他說話的天使走了之後，他就叫了兩個家僕和侍候他的一個虔誠的士兵來，把一切事向他們講明，然後派他們到約帕去。

保羅請了一個百夫長來，說：“請你帶這個青年人去見千夫長，他有事要報告。”

士兵正用皮帶綁他的時候，保羅對站在旁邊的百夫長說：“你們鞭打一個還沒有定罪的羅馬公民，是合法的嗎？”百夫長聽了，就去報告千夫長，說：“這個人是羅馬公民，你要怎麼辦呢？”

凡負軛作奴僕的，應當看自己的主人是配受十分的敬重，免得神的名和道理被人褻瀆。奴僕有信主的主人，不可因為他們是弟兄而輕看他們；倒要加意服事他們，因為這些受到服事的益處的，是信主蒙愛的人。你要把這些事教導人，勸勉人。

於是吩咐百夫長看守保羅，但要寬待他，不可阻止親友來照料他。

千夫長叫了兩個百夫長來，說：“預備兩百個步兵，七十個騎兵、兩百個長槍手，晚上九點鐘往該撒利亞去。
