Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’“ So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,“ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man.“ If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said,

I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant. When I left home and crossed the Jordan River, I owned nothing except a walking stick. Now my household fills two large camps!
