“ To what can I compare the people of this generation?” Jesus asked.“ How can I describe them?

主又說：「我用什麼來比擬這個世代的人呢？他們像什麼呢？

耶穌又說：“我要把這世代的人比作甚麼呢？他們好像甚麼呢？

『這樣、我要用甚麼來比擬這世代的人呢？他們好像甚麼呢？

主又說：「我要把這世代的人比做什麼呢？他們好比什麼呢？

又曰、斯世之人、我何以比之、其何似耶、

主曰、斯世之人、將何以比之、又以何譬譬之耶、

主又曰、有原文抄本無此句斯世之人、我將何以喻之、彼何似也、

『夫斯代之人、予將何以擬之、彼亦何所似乎？

Jesus went on to say,“ To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

“ To what can I compare this generation? It is like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends,‘ We played wedding songs, and you didn’t dance, so we played funeral songs, and you didn’t mourn.’For John didn’t spend his time eating and drinking, and you say,‘ He’s possessed by a demon.’The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say,‘ He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’ But wisdom is shown to be right by its results.”

What can I say about you? Who has ever seen such sorrow? O daughter of Jerusalem, to what can I compare your anguish? O virgin daughter of Zion, how can I comfort you? For your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?

Jesus said,“ How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it?
