“ To what then shall I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

耶穌又說：“我要把這世代的人比作甚麼呢？他們好像甚麼呢？

『這樣、我要用甚麼來比擬這世代的人呢？他們好像甚麼呢？

主又說：「我要把這世代的人比做什麼呢？他們好比什麼呢？

又曰、斯世之人、我何以比之、其何似耶、

主曰、斯世之人、將何以比之、又以何譬譬之耶、

主又曰、有原文抄本無此句斯世之人、我將何以喻之、彼何似也、

『夫斯代之人、予將何以擬之、彼亦何所似乎？

Jesus went on to say,“ To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

“ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call out to the other children,and say,‘ We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a song of mourning, and you did not mourn.’For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say,‘ He has a demon!’The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Behold, a gluttonous man and a heavy drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ And yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

How shall I admonish you? What shall I compare to you, Daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I liken to you as I comfort you, Virgin daughter of Zion? For your collapse is as vast as the sea; Who can heal you?

And He was saying,“ How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it?
