“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

主又說：「我要把這世代的人比做什麼呢？他們好比什麼呢？

又曰、斯世之人、我何以比之、其何似耶、

主曰、斯世之人、將何以比之、又以何譬譬之耶、

主又曰、有原文抄本無此句斯世之人、我將何以喻之、彼何似也、

『夫斯代之人、予將何以擬之、彼亦何所似乎？

Jesus went on to say,“ To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

“ To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

“ To what should I compare this generation? It’s like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to other children:We played the flute for you, but you didn’t dance; we sang a lament, but you didn’t mourn!For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say,‘ He has a demon!’The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

What can I say on your behalf? What can I compare you to, Daughter Jerusalem? What can I liken you to, so that I may console you, Virgin Daughter Zion? For your ruin is as vast as the sea. Who can heal you?

And he said,“ With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to describe it?
