( All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.

有些稅吏也來受洗，並問約翰：「老師，我們該怎麼辦呢？」

然而，智慧會在追求智慧的人身上得到驗證。」

口裡唱著上帝的奴僕摩西的歌和羔羊的歌：「全能的主上帝啊，你的作為偉大奇妙！萬國的王啊，你的道路公義真實！

當然不會！縱然人人都撒謊，上帝仍然真實可靠。正如聖經上說：「你的判語證明你是公義的；你雖被人控告，卻終必得勝。」我姑且用人的觀點說：「如果我們的不義可以反襯出上帝的公義，我們該做何論？上帝向我們發怒是祂不公正嗎？」當然不是！若是這樣，上帝怎麼能審判這世界呢？

他在主的道上曾受過栽培，心裡火熱，能正確地講解和教導有關耶穌的事，但他只知道約翰的洗禮。

我犯罪得罪了你，唯獨得罪了你，做了你看為邪惡的事，所以你對我的責備是正當的，你對我的審判是公正的。

保羅說：「那麼，你們受的是什麼洗禮呢？」他們說：「是約翰的洗禮。」

「你們認為這兩個兒子，到底哪一個服從父親呢？」他們回答道：「大兒子。」耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，稅吏和娼妓要比你們先進上帝的國。因為約翰來指示你們當行的正路，你們不信他，但稅吏和娼妓信了。你們親眼看見了這些事，竟然還是執迷不悟，不肯信他。

我聽見掌管各水源的天使說：「昔在今在的聖者啊！你是公義的，因為你施行了審判。

他們不知道上帝所賜的義，想努力建立自己的義，不肯服從上帝的義。

那時，耶路撒冷、猶太各地和約旦河一帶的人都來到約翰那裡，承認他們的罪，在約旦河裡接受他的洗禮。

亞多尼·比色說：「從前七十個王的大拇指和大腳趾被我砍掉，在我桌下撿食物碎屑，現在上帝照我的行為報應我了。」他們把他帶到耶路撒冷，他死在那裡了。
