After John’s disciples left, Jesus began talking about him to the crowds.“ What kind of man did you go into the wilderness to see? Was he a weak reed, swayed by every breath of wind?

那孩子渐渐长大，灵里刚强。他住在旷野，直到他向以色列公开出现的那天。

亚纳和该亚法任大祭司——那时，神的话语在旷野临到撒迦利亚的儿子约翰。

这样，我们就不再是小孩子，在人的狡诈和诡计中陷入那迷惑人的骗局，被各种教义之风摇动，飘来飘去。

因此，各位蒙爱的人哪，你们既然预先知道了这些，就应该警惕，免得被那些恶人的迷惑引入歧途，从自己坚固的地步坠落。

那么，我这样打算，难道就是轻率行事吗？难道我所计划的，是顺着肉体的计划，以致在我忽是忽非吗？神是信实的，我们向你们传的话语，并没有“是”而又“非”。要知道，藉着我们，就是我、赛拉斯和提摩太，在你们中间所传扬的神儿子耶稣基督，并没有“是”而又“非”；相反，在他只有“是”，因为神的一切应许，在基督里都成为“是”。所以，说“阿们”也是藉着基督，使荣耀藉着我们归于神。

不过他要凭着信仰祈求，不要有任何疑惑，因为疑惑的人就像海中的波浪，被风吹动翻腾。这样的人不要想从主那里得到什么，他是心怀二意的人，在他所有的道路上都摇摆不定。

在那些日子里，施洗者约翰来了，在犹太的旷野传道，说：“你们应当悔改，因为天国近了。”这约翰就是藉着先知以赛亚所说的那个人。以赛亚说：“在旷野有声音呼喊着：‘你们当预备主的道，当修直他的路！’”约翰穿着骆驼毛做的衣服，腰束皮带。他的食物是蝗虫和野蜜。那时，耶路撒冷、全犹太地区和整个约旦河一带的人，都出来到他那里，

这些人是无水的泉源，是被暴风吹逐的云雾；有漆黑的幽暗为他们存留。

约翰说：“正如先知以赛亚所说的，我就是在旷野里呼喊的声音：‘你们当修直主的道。’”

于是约翰就来了。他在旷野施洗，并宣讲为罪得赦免而悔改的洗礼。全犹太地区和整个耶路撒冷的人，都出来到他那里，承认自己的罪孽，在约旦河里受他的洗礼。

你却放纵如水，必不再出众；因为你上了你父亲的床，把床玷污了。他居然上了我的床铺！

约翰的门徒们走了，耶稣就开始对众人谈论约翰，说：“你们曾经到旷野去，是要观看什么呢？一根被风吹动的芦苇吗？你们出去，究竟是要看什么呢？一个身穿细软衣服的人吗？看哪，那些穿细软衣服的人在王宫里。
