凡不我棄者福矣、○

凡不我厭而棄者、福矣、○

凡不因我而躓蹶者福矣、

凡不予疑怪者、福哉斯人！』

Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

Blessed is anyone who does not give up their faith because of me.”

And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”

And he added,“ God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”

and blessed is the one who isn’t offended by me.”

And blessed is anyone who does not take offense at Me.”

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.

And blessed is[ he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

He will be a sanctuary; but for the two houses of Israel, He will be a stone to stumble over and a rock to trip over, and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.Many will stumble over these; they will fall and be broken; they will be snared and captured.

For since, in God’s wisdom, the world did not know God through wisdom, God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of the message preached.For the Jews ask for signs and the Greeks seek wisdom,but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles.Yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is God’s power and God’s wisdom,because God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.Brothers, consider your calling: Not many are wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world— what is viewed as nothing— to bring to nothing what is viewed as something,

Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.As it is written: Look! I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over and a rock to trip over, yet the one who believes on Him will not be put to shame.

Then Simeon blessed them and told His mother Mary:“ Indeed, this child is destined to cause the fall and rise of many in Israel and to be a sign that will be opposed—

And if anyone is not offended because of Me, he is blessed.”

But the unbeliever does not welcome what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually.

So honor will come to you who believe, but for the unbelieving, The stone that the builders rejected— this One has become the cornerstone,and A stone to stumble over, and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the message; they were destined for this.

Therefore, when many of His disciples heard this, they said,“ This teaching is hard! Who can accept it?”Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples were complaining about this, asked them,“ Does this offend you?Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where He was before?The Spirit is the One who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.But there are some among you who don’t believe.”( For Jesus knew from the beginning those who would not believe and the one who would betray Him.)He said,“ This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted to him by the Father.”From that moment many of His disciples turned back and no longer accompanied Him.

And they were offended by Him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his household.”And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.
