he sent them to the Lord to ask,“ Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying,“ Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

and he sent them to the Lord to ask him,“ Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

And after summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying,“ Are You the Coming One, or are we to look for another?”

For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.His dominion will be vast and he will bring immeasurable prosperity. He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness, from this time forward and forevermore. The LORD’s intense devotion to his people will accomplish this.

But for you who respect my name, the sun of vindication will rise with healing wings, and you will skip about like calves released from the stall.

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you– from your fellow Israelites; you must listen to him.This accords with what happened at Horeb in the day of the assembly. You asked the LORD your God:“ Please do not make us hear the voice of the LORD our God any more or see this great fire any more lest we die.”The LORD then said to me,“ What they have said is good.I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. It will again be built, with plaza and moat, but in distressful times.Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.

And I will put hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring; her offspring will attack your head, and you will attack her offspring’s heel.”

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s root stock, a bud will sprout from his roots.

“ I, the LORD, promise that a new time will certainly come when I will raise up for them a righteous branch, a descendant of David. He will rule over them with wisdom and understanding and will do what is just and right in the land.Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and Israel will live in security. Because you have obeyed me, all the nations of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using the name of your descendants.’”

The woman said to him,“ I know that Messiah is coming”( the one called Christ);“ whenever he comes, he will tell us everything.”

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs; the nations will obey him.

Joshua son of Nun sent two spies out from Shittim secretly and instructed them:“ Find out what you can about the land, especially Jericho.” They stopped at the house of a prostitute named Rahab and spent the night there.

Look, the sovereign LORD comes as a victorious warrior; his military power establishes his rule. Look, his reward is with him; his prize goes before him.Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.

And I will grant my two witnesses authority to prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.

Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
