calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying,“ Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

約翰遂召其徒二人、遣詣耶穌曰、當來者爾乎、抑他人是望乎、

如望乃召二弟子、使往詢耶穌曰：『汝其為將臨者乎？抑吾人別有所待耶？』

he sent them to the Lord to ask,“ Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

He sent them to the Lord. John told them to ask him,“ Are you the one who is supposed to come? Or should we look for someone else?”

and he sent them to the Lord to ask him,“ Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

and sent them to the Lord, asking,“ Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

And after summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying,“ Are You the Coming One, or are we to look for another?”

And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying,“ Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

and sent them to the Lord, asking,“ Are You the One who is to come, or should we look for someone else?”

And John calling[ unto him] two of his disciples sent[ them] to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

and sent them to Jesus to ask,“ Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”

John, calling to himself two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying,“ Are you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?”

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

“ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers— it is to him you shall listen—just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said,‘ Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’And the Lord said to me,‘ They are right in what they have spoken.I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

“ And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the Lord.“ And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord:“ My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children’s offspring,” says the Lord,“ from this time forth and forevermore.”

When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among those who attended him,and having related everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.

“ Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap.He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord.

“ Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.

I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

“ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called:‘ The Lord is our righteousness.’

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.

The Lord says to my Lord:“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind,“ You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.”

The woman said to him,“ I know that Messiah is coming( he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.”

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men secretly from Shittim as spies, saying,“ Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” And they went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab and lodged there.

Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
