眾驚懼、歸榮上帝曰、大先知興於我中、上帝臨格其民矣、

眾驚駭、稱頌天主曰、大先知興於我儕中、天主眷顧其民、

They were all filled with awe and praised God.“ A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said.“ God has come to help his people.”

Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has arisen among us!” and“ God has visited his people!”

眾睹此、咸駭愕、歌頌天主賜人偌大權能。

法利塞見而自思曰：「斯人苟為先知、當知撫之者為誰、寧不識此女乃風塵中人乎？」

『可頌者主、義塞天主！厥民見贖、恩德不富？

眾盡驚服、歸榮天主、心懷寅畏、而相語曰：『我儕今見神異之事矣！』

眾見瘖者言、殘者全、跛者行、瞽者明、乃翕然嘆服、而歸榮於義塞之天主。

惟彼聖民。慈主所憶。求主憐我。廁彼之列。惠然來臨。賜以拔擢。俾我親沾。天民之福。俾我同享。帝族之樂。爾國發榮。吾心乃足。

牧童以所見所聞、悉符天神所示、乃歌詠天主大德而歸。

四海統一尊。東西咸悅服。

鄰里咸驚。此事風傳、遍及猶太山村、

眾對曰：『斯乃加利利納匝肋人先知耶穌也。』

全會同人、及聞其事者無不懍然戒懼焉。主假宗徒之手、廣行神蹟、信眾咸一德一心、集於所羅門廊下、餘眾不敢雜廁其中、然而民益敬之、

爰又問曰：『爾既非基督、又非伊理藹、亦非先知、則胡為授洗耶？』

亞拿尼亞聞言、仆地而絕、聞者悚然，

耶穌曰：『何事？』曰：『納匝勒人耶穌事耳。渠乃先知、在天主與眾人之前、言行顯赫、

莫不因予之故、而歸榮天主。

對曰：『施洗如望也或則以為伊理藹也、亦有謂古先知再世者。』

曰：『然則爾為伊理藹乎？』曰：『非也。』曰：『子殆先知乎？』曰：『否。』

請問我祖向在此山禮主、而爾輩猶太人謂禮主應在耶路撒冷、何也？』

故又詢盲者曰：『汝謂啟汝目者、為何如人耶？』曰：『先知也。』

婦驚喜交集、捨墓疾趨、將以馳報門徒。

人見所行聖跡、乃曰：『斯真將臨之先知！』

眾聆斯言多曰：『斯真先知！』或曰：『斯乃基督！』或曰：『基督豈能出於加利利乎？

摩西有言、「上主必自爾中、立一先知、正如立吾；凡彼所示、爾當信從不信、則必滅自人群也。」

西門伯鐸祿睹此、俯伏耶穌膝下、曰：『主其離我罪人。』

熱辣瑟四境居民、皆惴焉而懼、共懇耶穌離境；耶穌乃登舟以返。

滅爾子民、將無一片之石、仍留他石之上、凡此皆緣汝不識寵眷之日故也。』

又謂義塞人曰：「天主將於爾兄弟中、立一先知、正如立我者、」即此摩西也。
