神说：“你带着你的儿子，就是你独生的儿子，你所爱的以撒，往摩利亚地去，在我所要指示你的山上，把他献为燔祭。”

以利亚将孩子从楼上抱下来，进屋子交给他母亲，说：“看哪，你的儿子活了！”

现在全家的人都起来攻击婢女，说：‘你将那打死兄弟的交出来，我们好治死他，偿他打死兄弟的命，灭绝那承受家业的。’这样，他们要将我剩下的炭火灭尽，不与我丈夫留名留后在世上。”

有好些犹太人来看马大和马利亚，要为她们的兄弟安慰她们。
