On another Sabbath day, a man with a deformed right hand was in the synagogue while Jesus was teaching.

On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.

Jesus went into the synagogue again and noticed a man with a deformed hand.Since it was the Sabbath, Jesus’ enemies watched him closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath.Jesus said to the man with the deformed hand,“ Come and stand in front of everyone.”Then he turned to his critics and asked,“ Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him.He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man,“ Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored!At once the Pharisees went away and met with the supporters of Herod to plot how to kill Jesus.

Then Jesus went over to their synagogue,where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus,“ Does the law permit a person to work by healing on the Sabbath?”( They were hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.)And he answered,“ If you had a sheep that fell into a well on the Sabbath, wouldn’t you work to pull it out? Of course you would.And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.”Then he said to the man,“ Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored, just like the other one!Then the Pharisees called a meeting to plot how to kill Jesus.

Then Jesus went to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and taught there in the synagogue every Sabbath day.

When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.

Crowds of sick people— blind, lame, or paralyzed— lay on the porches.

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue,

Some of the Pharisees said,“ This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath.” Others said,“ But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?” So there was a deep division of opinion among them.

Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in religious law,“ Is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not?”

Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God!But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day.“ There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd.“ Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.”

One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples broke off heads of grain, rubbed off the husks in their hands, and ate the grain.

When King Jeroboam heard the man of God speaking against the altar at Bethel, he pointed at him and shouted,“ Seize that man!” But instantly the king’s hand became paralyzed in that position, and he couldn’t pull it back.

“ What sorrow awaits this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword will cut his arm and pierce his right eye. His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind.”
