耶穌又進了會堂。那裡有個人，他的一隻手枯萎了。有些人就密切注意耶穌會不會在安息日使那個人痊癒，這是為要控告耶穌。耶穌對那手枯萎的人說：「起來，站到中間來！」耶穌問他們：「在安息日可以行善還是作惡，救命還是害命？」他們卻不做聲。耶穌憤怒地環視他們，又為他們心裡剛硬而憂傷，就對那個人說：「伸出手來！」他一伸出來，手就復原了。那些法利賽人就出去，立刻與希律黨的人一起商議怎樣對付耶穌，好除滅他。

耶穌離開那地方，進了他們的會堂。看哪，有個一隻手枯萎的人。有些人就問耶穌，說：「在安息日使人痊癒，是否可以呢？」這是為要控告耶穌。耶穌對他們說：「你們當中有哪一個人，如果他有一隻羊在安息日掉進坑裡，他不會抓住羊，把牠拉上來呢？人比羊重要多了！所以，在安息日做好事是可以的。」於是耶穌對那個人說：「伸出你的手！」他一伸出來，手就復原了，和另一隻一樣健全。那些法利賽人就出去，商議怎樣對付耶穌，好除滅他。

耶穌下到加利利的一個城迦百農去，在安息日教導人。

耶穌來到拿撒勒，就是他長大的地方。在安息日那天，他照自己的習慣進了會堂，站起來要誦讀經文。

柱廊裡躺著一群患病的，有瞎眼的、瘸腿的、癱瘓的。他們正等著池水動起來，

耶穌走遍全加利利，在他們的會堂裡教導人，傳天國的福音，並且使民中各樣的疾病和各樣的症狀痊癒。

在安息日，耶穌在一個會堂裡教導人，

法利賽人中的有些人說：「那個人不是從神那裡來的，因為他不守安息日。」有些人卻說：「一個罪人怎麼能行這樣的神蹟呢？」他們之間就產生了分裂。

於是耶穌問律法師們和法利賽人，說：「在安息日使人痊癒，可以不可以？」

然後耶穌按手在她身上，她的腰立刻直了，她就不住地榮耀神。因為耶穌在安息日使人痊癒，會堂主管就很生氣，對那群人說：「應該做工的日子有六天，所以你們在那些日子來得痊癒吧！但不要在安息日這一天。」

有一次在安息日，耶穌從麥田經過，他的門徒們摘下麥穗，用手搓著吃。

「禍哉！那撇棄羊群的無用牧人！刀劍必落在他的膀臂和右眼上；他的膀臂將完全枯萎，他的右眼將徹底失明。」
