耶穌離開那裡，來到他們的會堂。會堂裡有一個人，他的一隻手枯乾了。有人問耶穌：“在安息日治病，可以嗎？”目的是要控告耶穌。耶穌回答：“你們當中有哪一個，他僅有的一隻羊在安息日跌進坑裡，會不把羊抓住拉上來呢？人比羊貴重得多了！所以，在安息日行善是可以的。”於是對那人說：“伸出手來！”他把手一伸，就復原了，好像另一隻手一樣。法利賽人出去，商議怎樣對付耶穌，好殺掉他。

耶穌下到加利利的迦百農城，在安息日教導人。

耶穌來到拿撒勒自己長大的地方，照著習慣在安息日進入會堂，站起來要讀經。

在那裡躺著許多病人，有瞎眼的、瘸腿的和癱瘓的。（有些抄本有以下一段：“他們等候水動，

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裡教導人，宣揚天國的福音，醫治民間各種疾病、各種病症。

安息日的時候，耶穌在會堂裡教導人。

有幾個法利賽人說：“那個人不是從神那裡來的，因為他不守安息日。”另外有些人說：“一個罪人怎能行這樣的神蹟呢？”他們就起了紛爭。

耶穌對律法師和法利賽人說：“在安息日治病，可以不可以呢？”

耶穌用雙手按在她身上，她立刻直起腰來，頌讚神。會堂的主管，因為耶穌在安息日治病，就氣忿忿地對群眾說：“有六天是應當作工的，你們可以在這六天裡來求醫，但在安息日卻不可以。”

有一個安息日，耶穌從麥田經過，他的門徒摘了麥穗，用手搓著吃。

耶羅波安王聽見神人向伯特利的祭壇喊叫的話，就從祭壇上伸手，說：“抓住他！”王向他伸出的手卻癱瘓了，不能縮回來。

“那丟棄羊群的無用牧人有禍了！願刀劍落在他的膀臂和他的右眼上；願他的膀臂全然枯槁，願他的右眼完全失明！”
