惟聞而不行者、譬諸無基、而建屋土上、橫流衝之、遂以傾圮、而屋之頹壞者大也、

惟聞而不行者、譬人未置基而建屋於土上、橫流衝之即傾頹、而屋之頹壞者大矣、

聞而不行、則猶建屋於沙礫之上、全無根基、一經橫流冲擊、即頹然傾圮、而不堪收拾矣。』

But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

But here is what happens when people listen to my words and do not obey them. They are like a man who builds a house on soft ground instead of solid rock. The moment the river rushes against that house, it falls down. It is completely destroyed.”

But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”

But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house right on the ground, without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”

But the one who hears and does not act is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The river crashed against it, and immediately it collapsed. And the destruction of that house was great.”

But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; and the river burst against it and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.

行正直者、必蒙救援、行邪曲者、猝然傾覆、

有播種者出而播種、播時有落路旁者、為人所踐、飛鳥盡食之、有落石上者、生而即槁、以無潤澤也、有落棘中者、棘同生而蔽之、

緣此、我不能復忍、遣人欲知爾信、恐為試者所惑、而我徒勞、

彼自我而出、但非屬我者、若其屬我、則恆偕我矣、然其出也、乃顯其皆非屬我也、

但內無根、則亦暫耳、及患難窘逐、因道而興、即厭棄矣、

緣此、爾當殷勤、於信益德、於德益智、於智益節、於節益忍、於忍益虔、於虔益友愛、於友愛益仁慈、爾有此而擴充之、則必使爾於識我主耶穌基督、不怠不荒、無此者則盲、僅視所近、已忘舊罪之潔、

邪鬼離人、遊行旱地、求安不得、曰、我將歸所出之室、至、則見其闃寂、掃除、修飾矣、遂往、又攜七鬼惡於己者、入而居之、其人後患、較前尤劇、此惡世亦必如是、○

對以不往、後悔而往、謂其仲子亦如之、對曰、主諾、既而不往、

至於我敵、不欲我君之者、曳之來、誅於我前、○

我儕既識真理、而故干罪、則無復有贖罪之祭、惟戰慄待鞫、及滅諸敵之烈火耳、拒摩西之律者、有二三人為證、其死無恤、況踐踏上帝子、以所由成聖之約血為俗、且狎侮施恩之神、爾意若人受刑、其重為何如乎、

其民憾之、遣使於其後、曰、我儕不欲斯人君我也、

播於磽地者、乃人聽道、即喜受之、惟內無根、則亦暫耳、及為道而遇患難窘逐、即厭棄之、播於棘中者、乃人聽道、而世之慮、財之惑、蔽其道而不實、

故凡所命爾者、悉行而守之、但勿效其所為、以其言而不行也、

彼詣爾所、如民來集、坐於爾前、若為我民、聽爾言而不行之、其口多顯仁愛、心則逐利、

如是信而無行、乃死耳、或謂爾有信、我有行、爾其以行外之信示我、我則由我之行以信示爾、爾信上帝惟一、善矣、諸鬼亦信之而戰慄、虛誕之人歟、豈不知行外之信乃死乎、我祖亞伯拉罕獻子以撒於壇、非由行見義乎、可見其信與行同工、且信由行而成全、乃應經所云、亞伯拉罕信上帝、義遂歸之、且稱為上帝友、由是觀之、人見義乃由行、非獨由信也、如妓喇合納使者、使出他途、非亦由行見義乎、蓋身外乎靈則死、信外乎行亦死也、

人既因識主救者耶穌基督、得脫世污、若復為其所累所勝、則後患尤劇於前、

我語汝、於彼日所多瑪之刑、較斯邑猶易受也、禍哉、哥拉汛乎、禍哉、伯賽大乎、蓋在爾中所行之異能、若行於推羅西頓、彼早衣麻坐灰、而改悔矣、然於鞫日、推羅西頓之刑、較爾猶易受也、迦百農歟、爾將升於天乎、必下陰府耳、又曰、聽爾者、即聽我、拒爾者、即拒我、拒我者、即拒遣我者也、○

僕知主意而不備、不順其意者、見扑必多、

惟宜行道、不第聞之而自欺也、蓋聞道而不行者、猶人觀本來面目於鏡、既觀而往、遂忘其何若矣、惟察夫純全之律、乃使人自由者、且恆於是、非聞而忘、乃遵而行者、斯人於其所為、必獲福矣、人若自以為虔敬、而不捫其舌、自欺其心、其虔敬虛矣、

又屢刑之於會堂、強使褻瀆、攻之益狂、窘逐之至於外邑、

我知我去後、將有兇狼入爾中、不惜其羣、

人多顚躓、相陷相憾、

爾女行姦、爾媳宣淫、我不罰之、緣爾轉就妓女、而偕淫婦獻祭、無知之民、必致傾覆、
